Code Re-Review Day

  • Today (maybe part of tomorrow) let's review the work we've done so far on 2.3.
  • Really review the code, be harsh. Look for little things and bigger, architectural things equally. If we've done something badly let's fix it sooner than later.
  • Try to use it a little, as well. The UI is largely missing so this is tough but give it a shot.
  • Let's divide up sections to review, preferably parts you neither wrote nor reviewed the first time.
  • File bugs! Focus on the reviewing for at least the first half+ of today, file bugs as you go, and this afternoon or tomorrow we'll start fixing them.

  • 2.2.1 is wrapped, going out today. 17 bugs in < 1 week, nice work!
  • 2.2.2 - Will figure out the schedule later this morning, with the mobile merge (2.2.3?) and 2.3.

Post-release

2.2 - What went well? What went badly?

  • Migration process was slow.
  • User migration semi-failed with no way to continue or roll back.
  • Issues with library versions on web heads.
  • Otoh, a stable release that stuck on the first attempt!

  • Great work on 2.2! Let's see it all the way home tomorrow.
  • 2.2.1 is a much lighter milestone.
    • These are the only bugs we're taking.
    • Turn around target: 1-2 weeks, tops, though the on-site might interfere.
  • If you have things to add to the on-site, go for it. I'm putting together a rough schedule.

    • Focus on P1s, then P2s. Anything lower can slip if it has to. (ie: do those last!)
    • Fx4.0b3, releasing in ~2 weeks, is our deadline. Need to freeze by Wednesday!
