  • Thunderbird 2.0.0.6 was released Wednesday evening (8/1)
  • Triage for 2.0.0.7 starts this week. Schedule hasn't been discussed yet.
  • Triage for Thunderbird 1.5.0.13 on-going.
  • Thunderbird major update 1.5.0.12->2.0.0.6 is next in line for release.

Firefox 3

IT

  • Maintenance this week
    • Pageload server migration, try #3
    • Kernel updates
    • wiki.m.o migration and upgrade
    • LDAP maintenance
  • Created Hg accounts for all CVS contributors from the past year
  • Facebook app launched; more migrations to php5 cluster
  • Continued breakpad support and maintenance
  • MPT cage expansion (pics to come)

Build

  • IT-scheduled maintenance downtime on Tuesday evening; this will close the tree, due to imaging the performance testing machines.
  • We should see builds from the new Win32 reference platform this week; they will be in the experimental directory on ftp. Preed will post in m.d.planning with the location.
  • A number of people have pinged us about Firefox 1.5.0.12 major update prompts that take them to 2.0.0.4, and then jumping to 2.0.0.6. This is expected behavior; publishing a new version of major update requires a Build/QA process, which we're tracking in bug 388586. For now, people can get to 2.0.0.6 via 1.5.0.12 -> 2.0.0.4 -> 2.0.0.6.
  • We're currently working on getting Thunderbird major update and Thunderbird 1.5.0.13 scheduled, specifically which one we work on first.
  • Nick (aka cf) will be in Mountain View this week.

  • Planning work is in progress on migrating MDC to the php5 cluster to improve performance and reliability.
  • Simon Willison is at work on an update to our core JavaScript reference, integrating post JavaScript 1.5 material directly into the core of the documentation. New material includes:
    • A new chapter on closures

    • Extensions to the chapters on functions and variables to include new JavaScript 1.7 features such as let.
    • More is in the works.
  • Work on a JS Speed Test Suite is progressing nicely - more tests are being rolled in, better results created.
  • Made two releases available for the MAR xulapp. A third release is planned for today which includes a major bugfix.
  • WebRunner work is progressing. Try to release 0.7 this week:
    • Support for webapp scripting (think greasemonkey-scripts for a webapp)
    • Support for adding simple webapp-specific UI - (toolbars and menus)
    • Support for simple desktop integration - (nsIAlertsService for popuping up a message when new mail arrives)
