Schedule Update

  • 35 b4 mobile live yesterday
  • 36 b5 go to build later today
  • Going to propose that we drop a week from the 37 beta cycle in order to pull in the 38 release date by a week from May 19 to May 12
  • To compensate, we will extend the 39 beta cycle by a week (to 7 weeks) in order to maintain the existing schedule for the rest of the year
  • lmandel will follow up to see if we can lock down a date for the next major Firefox release now as well

Add-ons

Stability

Aurora / Dev Edition

  • overall rate at 5 when <2.5 would be normal
  • bug 1120331 still dominates stats

Beta

  • overall rate: 2.6 (when we should have 1.0-1.2)
  • GFX:
    • bug 1124249 (Intel, GL) is ~15% of 36.0b4 data so far!
    • bug 1116812 (D3D11) is ~2.8%
    • bug 1089454 (D2D) is ~3% in sum, a fix is on nightly
    • bug 1081911 is 1.4%
  • Media:
    • bug 1102642 has 4% of early 36.0b4 data, fix should be in for b5
    • bug 1123923 is ~1.8%
    • bug 1127173 is 1.4%
  • Shutdown hangs: overall 8.6%
    • bug 1124880 is 1.2%

Release

  • All looks good.

Mobile

  • Beta: rate at 4 when <2 would be wanted
    • That might go down now that b4 hits users and a fix for bug 1098227 is in there.
    • After that (and in very early b4 data), bug 1108709 (libOMX) will probably be the largest remaining issue, is on 35 as well (but the cause why 35 has more crashes than 34 and before)
