User Advocacy / SUMO Report

  • [roland] "Megabar" (also discuss in post mortem): I know no team currently has the resources but it would be nice for these sorts of "pixel changes" to have in late beta an Ask Me Anything (AMA) and an explainer video/cartoon showing HOW the new pixel changes benefit folks Over 50 "megabar" questions on support.mozilla.org and even more in reddit. Top 3 "megabar" complaints in descending order of frequency:
    1. folks don’t want enlarged address bar while searching or while focused or when opening a new tab because it gets in the way of the toolbar
    2. wants old drop down button with most frequented site list (which is there when you click in the megabar but not obvious to users)
    3. don’t know how to remove a search engine when clicking on the url bar; answer: just remove them from top sites
  • no child-processes launched after 75/browser non-functional: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1629361 <-- post mortem discussion on what more robust hardening can be implemented by Firefox
