  • 88.0 launched yesterday @ 25%, updates now at 0%
    • No obvious blockers to unthrottling at this time, likely will go to 100% tomorrow
    • Fenix 88.1.1 will also be unthrottled tomorrow
  • 78.10esr live @ 100%
  • No updates no Focus 8.15 release
  • Desktop & DevEdition 89.0b1 live @ 25%
  • 89.0b2 gtb today, possibly Fenix 89.0.0-beta.1 also

Release quality metrics (Tuesdays)

  • Stability too early for 89 yet since first week of cycle
  • Some possible page load regressions in early 89 data
    • Possibly Proton-related?

mc2 crash rate: 2.27 (+0.09 compared to previous week), crash incidence: 1.70% (-0.09pp)

mc1 crash rate: 5.19 crashes/1k usage hours (-0.77 compared to previous week)

  • Linux Startup Crash in [@ mozilla::detail::MutexImpl::~MutexImpl | __run_exit_handlers] in latest Nightly


mc2 crash rate: N/A (data is still for 88.0 release candidate)

mc2 crash rate: 1.94 (+0.52), crash incidence: 0.82% (+0.15pp)

mc1 crash rate: N/A (dashboard claims 6.71 but due do the release on Monday instead of Tuesday the user population is smaller than usual)

Mobile Stability




  • PI Request and feature tech docs due: April 22
    • Tracking 2 PI requests for Desktop QA so far

Aurora / Dev Edition


  • Overall QA Status for Proton: At Risk, due to Red Nightly Reports
    • Context Menu - Bugs causing red status got fixed, no new regressions reporte status changed to "On Track"
    • Elastic Overscroll - Bug fixes is in progress, stretch goal for 89
    • Panels - 10 out of 27 QA reported bugs got fixed, still some P1 and P2a bugs are open
  • Beta testing has started this week
  • Icon verification is in progress
  • E2E test report (1st batch) coming next week, April 27th


Action items

Feature Status Review

  • Fx89 Beta considered 'On Track'
    • Some challenged areas within the Platform team. Mostly working through ref test failures. Team is confident they will be resolved by their established go/no-go date of April 23rd.
    • Elastic overscroll remains challenged but is a stretch goal for Proton. Team is holding a go/no-go for this feature on April 23rd.
  • Fx90 Nightly feature list is being pulled together.
    • LSNG is back and looking to target Fx90. Intention is to have this enabled for 1 full cycle before going out with ESR in Fx91
    • Fission Rollout planned for Nightly Fx90. Experiment underway.(continued expansion of rollout to additional users in Fx91/92)
