  • Joe Stagner & Kevin Dangoor/Daniel will sync this week if possible, before PTO for next steps on App Template proposal (for building content apps/with possible Wordpress as CMS)
  • Bryan (and James) to deliver NPR app install module screencast to Mark/Janet when it's ready. Next week?
  • Mark & Daniel to coordinate tutorial track plans.
  • Havi: Followup on 7/3 brownbag & 7/7 Hack day outcomes, will also report back on App challenge proposal framework

  • App Builder Proposal
    • Background: Diana and Joe discussed ideas on how to get right # of local apps into App store.
    • Joe: create light aesthetic to build apps into stores -- WYSIWYG - specifically for end users, not devs
      • quality would come b/c the technology works.
      • hosting would be provided by whatever backend is specified -- Apps program (per Rick Fant) providing hosting infrastructure.
      • we could use appcloudy.com, (on github) but what about FB?
      • Kevin: WP.com or tumblr blogs are easy for end-users. will it be an aggregator?
      • Joe: there are still some missing pieces. Not just a link container. Framework.
      • Collection of configurable templates for layout and design.
      • Target: sporting team, nightclub, entertainment, celebrity: calendar, event template.
    • Question: whether we host it or not - utility of app. how do we manage the content.
      • Daniel: have a BD relationship. and push people to use it. manage it with them.
      • Joe: is the original value prop of low barrier to entry still true?
      • how is development of the tool managed externally? Mozillian proj manager
