Updating your phone allows you to test the latest version of the software and help us get feedback on the current issues. You can update the phone by flashing it or by applying the updates yourself.

Flash your phone

If it's been a while since your phone software was updated, it will be easiest and fastest to have the latest version flashed onto it using a computer. Ask someone from Desktop Support at your Space to do this for you, and it should just take a few minutes.

Apply updates yourself

It's easy to apply updates yourself. However, you may need to apply multiple updates if you haven't been downloading updates recently

To update your phone:

  • Check that you're connected to a Wi-Fi network
  • Go to Settings -> Device Information -> Check Now
  • If an update is available, pull down the notification tray and tap to download the update. Once the update is downloaded, you will need to tap the notification to install the update as well.

Tips

  • Make sure you do not have USB mass storage enabled and your phone plugged in - the update needs to be able to write to your SD card
  • If you have your notification window pulled down and are watching the download throbber for way too long (it's mesmerizing, right?) pull it back up a bit to see if you happen to have an "install now" button _behind_ the notification window.
