Bugzilla upgrade and migration happens tomorrow.

  • nearly everything is in place.
  • will need testing during deployment
  • syslog server and scl3 access now in place
  • haven't heard anything about graphite (replacement for ganglia) - this depends on shyam.
  • Some of custom searches may not work as expected
  • there will be 5 web heads, up from 3
  • now email will be on a dedicated server. so that should help BMO run faster
  • what about having separate web head for web services?
  • People build their own dashboards that have hundreds of BzAPI queries per page.
    • needs caching (look at this with firebug/web console)
    • if we could do that through a native api then could optimize the queries
    • will be putting caching in front of BzAPI
    • BzAPI is 15% of bugzilla.mozilla.org traffic
    • We are building a new native API in Q2 which will include a translation layer for the BzAPI.
