Preparation & Installation

1. Check on Moonshot inventory if the machine is loaned or not

2. Copy the hostname of the machine that you want to re-image

3. Connect via ssh on the machine using the username and password listed under releng GPG found under private/passwords

4. In order to start the reimage process ( blessing ), run the following command ( depending on what data center is the machine located ) :

If it is on MDC1 :

  • /usr/sbin/bless --netboot --server bsdp://10.49.56.16; reboot

If it is on MDC2 :

  • /usr/sbin/bless --netboot --server bsdp://10.51.56.16; reboot

After you have ran the command, the machine will reboot and start the reimage process.

The process is automated if the machine is already in Deploy Studio Database.

Finish

Once the process is finished, you will receive an email that will confirm that a new certificate has been generated for the machine that you have reimaged:

"certificate generated for t-yosemite-r7-00x"
