Data/Tools

Data Tools is a team within the Data program that builds investigation tools to assist other Mozillians in making sense of information collected by telemetry systems, initially and especially questions about the main browser products.
Why Data Tools?
Mozilla has several telemetry sources where we pool data about running systems. Like many telemetry systems these contain broad data sets with plenty of noise, odd naming conventions, and collection artifacts.
We also have teams of analysts, one off dashboards, and some generic investigation tools. There is a gap between our existing capabilities, and the audiences that could be using these data to make better decisions.
Where can I get in touch?
