Inclusive Web Design in Digital Teams

Summary

Everyone in an organisation’s digital team should be versed in the principles of Inclusive Design and have a level of understanding, relevant to their role, of the discrete practices that make Inclusive Websites possible.

Goals

The session goals are:

1. Consider: For participants from all areas of interest within web education and industry to consider the value of expanding web education outside of those designing and developing websites and why upholding the principles of Inclusive Design benefits everyone.

2. Communicate: For those within Web Education and Industry to communicate with each other and amongst themselves in order to find ways to integrate these principles into their curricula and working practices respectively

3. Connect: To ensure that within both Education and Industry, these principles can be upheld by those who teach, learn, design, build, procure and manage websites cohesively.

What do you want to achieve?

To get people thinking and talking about the issues of web education, knowledge sharing and best practices for everyone involved in the web industry.

Anyone involved in the Web Industry within Education and Organisations!

Duration: 50 minutes

What will they do when they get there?

Learn about how the principles of inclusive Design can be understood and adopted by interdisciplinary digital teams and they can benefit from sharing their views and experiences.

Ideally, a shared vision for getting Inclusive Design into the mix wherever anyone is teaching, learning, or participating professionally in any areas of the web.
