What does Drumbeat want for Christmas?

Drumbeat Christmas.002.jpg

A web site would be nice. Some more awesome project ideas would be great, too. But beyond the obvious wish list, it's a time of year to think about the year ahead, about goals, and about what constitutes success. If the Ghost of Christmas future visits Drumbeat, what does success look like? When we look back at the kind of year 2010 was for Drumbeat, what do we want that to look like.

We've been setting goals and objectives. And I've been trying to sharpen up the metrics -- and make the more ambitious. But beyond the granularity of numbers and traffic, what do we really need to make happen. And make sure the activites really deliver on that. Otherwise, we run the risk of being sucked into the tools and the hurly burly of getting a web site built and happy. But what is it really all about?

A handful of real project successes.

Early successes we can hang our hats on.

Projects that collectively add up to something greater.

A mosaic. Rather than "just a buncha' projects." We can succeed in the first, but still not succeed here.

A real community.

Real collaboration. Leading lights rubbing shoulders of Feel isolated and disconnected. 40 years ago parks brilliant
