Stage 1: Definition

1. Feature overview

From studies, we've discovered a lot of people who download Thunderbird expect Thunderbird to give them an email account. Therefore we should offer folks a sign-up option to get an email address.

2. Users & use cases

This will primarily be for new users and will offer a choice of sign-ups. New users can still use existing email addresses without the need to sign-up.

Existing users of Thunderbird will also be able to access the sign-up if they wish to sign up for a new address.
