PRD Status Update

Work in progress

  • Web-based protocol/content-handling (dmose)
    • protocol handling (mailto:, news:, callto:, tell:) going well, should have basic UI (pop up asking how to handle, can point to web apps) in for M7
    • content handling at risk for release
  • Microformats (mkaply)
    • Still looking for any feedback on the code [bug 384186]
      • action: sayrer to give it a look-see for M7
    • Where should the code go if it is needed for tbird and ffox?
      • action: beltzner to ask mscott and calendar peers

    • 41 M7 blockers, however we're re-prioritizing for UI-freeze, so this will change soon.

    • Building Firefox with --disable-places will soon be unsupported, --disable-places-bookmarks support will be removed as well (bug 386392)

  • UI change to switch from a "remember password?" popup to a notification bar to get crammed in this week.
  • Addons Manager (Rob Strong, Mossop, mwu)
    • ADD-003e planned for M7 Plugins enable/disable and blocklisting frontend work waiting for review. Backend pieces already checked in.
    • ADD-002a (same as ADD-002b) planned for M7
    • ADD-001a and ADD-001b (same as ADD-001c) should land for M7 but dependent on getting buy-in from security for redesign
    • ADD-003j needs implementation review
    • ADD-003g implementation is still under discussion
      • Mossop and beltzner came up with a plan this morning
    • ADD-003a needs bug 347585 implemented

Mac OS X Update

  • Progress Last Week
    • Down to 21 blockers from about 32, 3 or 4 of the remaining 21 blockers have patches. Everyone did a great job over the past week, we're well on track to meet our goals.
    • Switched PPC over to GCC 4 and 10.4 minimum required OS for all Mac trunk builds
    • Lots of fixes to context menus in Gecko 1.9 thanks to Steven's big Cocoa popup windows patch (not to be confused with Enn's big popup patch)
