Project Description

This project will be focusing on the Firefox first run experience and tour that is shown to users who install Firefox for the first time. The purpose of the tour is to educate users about Firefox that is supported by the growth theory that users who understand how to use the product better drive more usage. We will be exploring how to get more people to take a tour and how to more of those people to finish the tour. We will be experiment with various tours and measuring not only conversion rates on the website side, but also how that impacts usage.

Project Goals

The goals of the this project is getting more people to be engagement with a first run tour. The growth theory is that users who customize their browser in the first 6 weeks of use are retained longer and drive more usage.

Specific KPIs and Goals:

  • Improve tour start rate to 25% (current tour if 15%)
  • Improve tour completion rate to 50% (current tour is 40%)
  • Understand impact to MAUs on users who see each variation
