Minutes
actions from previous meeting
dietrich and irakli to come up with plan for landing jetpack in firefox
- gozala talked to dietrich
- plan for first iteration is to land the loader
- dietrich drafted a feature page <https://wiki.mozilla.org/Add-on_SDK_in_Firefox>
- on jetpack side they will create a branch that will only contain the loader
- there are a few problems with the plan to go packageless
- tree structure will be different, which makes it non-trivial to figure out where the loader code will live
- gozala hasn't had time to create the branch but will probably create it by the next meeting
- -> gozala to create a branch containing only the loader in preparation for landing it in firefox
irakli to start discussion about packageless sdk proposal
- gozala posted to the discussion group, got some feedback
- has made some refinements to the proposal
- will still need to refine the proposal further based on feedback
- has had a few meetings with ochameau and warner
- -> gozala to finalize proposal for a packageless sdk
myk & dietrich to draft mission statement/statement of principles (in four weeks!)
- myk and dietrich haven't done anything yet
- still plan to do it by the next meeting
- ochameau in the meantime has started the draft by copying notes from the previous meeting to this etherpad <https://etherpad.mozilla.org/addon-features-principles>
- -> myk & dietrich to draft mission statement/statement of principles for jetpack features
irakli to propose manifest strategy for core features using the sdk
- ochameau suggested there should be no manifest for core features
- gozala and warner chatted about it, couldn't decide whether or not it makes sense to have manifest
- there are some notes about it in the packageless proposal
- our current thinking is that core features can go manifestless for the time being
- there could be a separate step for core features to have manifests
- at this point the plan is to not require a manifest for core features
- see the details in the packageless proposal
- but gozala and warner are still thinking about it
- proposal: <https://github.com/mozilla/addon-sdk/wiki/JEP-Packageless>
- -> myk to look at packageless proposal and provide feedback once gozala updates it
Actions
