Firefox / Fennec updates

Firefox

  • 71 locales for FF 3.6
  • Release blocker found for French for FF 3.6 beta4

Fennec

  • Seth and Gandalf going to start the opt-in and outreach today

Web L10n

  • FR/WN, almost half locales are done
    • Some locales are making minor changes to the p12n elements
  • Fennec progressing
  • TB progressing

AMO

  • Doing code freeze tomorrow, shouldn't be many new strings
    • Aim to push next Tuesday
  • Verbatim shows the AMO dashboard
  • ml-QA review of AMO sites that are complete?
  • AMO shift to Django, do we want to have a lessons learned conversation?

Productization

  • Fennec p12n is on its way
  • Made some progress in de-betaing: Malayalam done. RM and OR are in progress. Emilio from es-CL will be back to the beta topic in January.

Tools

  • Launched localize.mozilla.org
    • Launched AMO. SUMO is coming sometime soon. Get Personas will be added. Hopefully by the end of this week.
  • Made some nice progress on l10n dashboard launch
  • Cool tool: multi-way diff
  • Any URL that you might have had for stage sign-off will no longer be valid. It should be stage-shipping
    • Bug assignment: P3: radar, P2: wanted, P1: blocking

Testing

  • ml-QA started on 15 locales
  • Timr is curious
    • Should we test websites with a service like ml-QA?
      • Do websites get less focus than the product?
      • If we are using tools like Verbatim, does it abstract the translation from the page of the project?

Roundtable

  • Do we want, or are we doing, QA on FF 3.6 on es-MX
  • Yahoo icon change; Stas will have Kev file a bug
  • TB development plan (wants to go to 2 releases a year...)
    • Is it time to start a l10n.mozilla.org type of site?
