  • changes to the schedule are likely to happen, more details to follow
  • b2g/gaia work week in MV this week, stas is attending

Mozilla.org

  • Working on porting firefox/new page from PHP to bedrock, this will probably be a 2/3 weeks work because we also need to port the download box logic to bedrock
  • New simpler processes are being put in place thanks to Anthony too (we may have a dedicated staging server just for l10n for example)
  • Please look into these task for improving discoverability of our localized products https://l10n.etherpad.mozilla.org/12 I can't see this document
  • Contribute page should be all ok, but buggy dev server prevents us from going forwards. RiK is trying to find and implement some solution to handle this.
  • The webdev team is doing a development sprint this week to fix the l10n bugs in bedrock I filed

MDN

  • Telefonica is investigating putting internal resources on translating B2G/HTML5 pages in Spanish and Portuguese. It may be an intern working on that, I suggested that he should focus on helping build a community of localizers instead of just translating

SUMO

Identity

  • Last two releases of Persona brought many new & fuzzy strings (~ 50%). There are three reasons for this:
    • renaming BrowserID to Persona
    • a general string proofreading by copywriters
    • adding main website (https://persona.org) to the list of items we localize
  • Anyway: 4 days atfer we prepared strings for the last release, 1/3 of the teams are at 100% (yay!)

  • Facebook tab for olympics event to go live this week (9 locales)
  • Survey for Jane Finette needs 4 additional strings for surveygizmo UI, will work on that today
  • Firefox Brand survey for Jesse Montano done by agencies to be reviewed today and also published this week

Tools / L20n

  • Transvision relaunched, I have a new version coming to add a couple of small features and new locales we added this year

  • Working with Creative/Branding to create a better icon for L10n, Can be used for swag, Twitter feed, and theme matching for ELMO.
  • Continuing discussion with community about Twitter feed. Good discussion. Be sure to jump in if you have an opinion (Pascal, your opinion would be very valuable).
