Events

Summit recap

Doc sprints

  • Recent sprints in India (Ali)
  • Need to plan next sprint(s)
    • Shooting for quarterly, rather than monthly, which was a bit too much.
    • Anybody want to help organize one?
  • Volunteer-driven sprints
    • Need to finish the doc sprint-in-a-box stuff, including the guide document
      • Borrow from WebPlatform

Other events

  • We're looking at expanding our range of event types beyond just doc sprints to other things, like Kuma code sprints, code example sprints, participating in dev team work weeks, etc.
  • Add any ideas or suggestions to the Event ideas etherpad.

Redesign

  • Over 600 people have opted into the beta!
  • Getting lots of great, useful feedback - keep it coming!
  • We're working on improving and documenting processes for prioritizing and utilizing feedback.
  • Teoli: in the progress of filing bugs about the feedback given. Will post a summary on dev-mdc once done.
    • Generally people like the redesign
    • People are happy that they're getting the opportunity to see it and offer feedback
    • At present, though, the content is less usable than with the old design

Content

  • MDN user guide work continues, gradually.
  • Jérémie, Jean-Yves and Florian have been working hard on using the new quicklinks functionality to improve navigation in our reference content; see the page on font for example.

Kuma

  • Page moving is in the process of returning; hopefully as soon as today! All new, rewritten awesomeness
  • Page deletion with undo and reason recording is also here today or so!

Process

  • We're about to start using Trello to track documentation projects. The Trello board is here: https://trello.com/b/c8gyOUdj/current-work
  • Sheppy will be documenting the process for using Trello in the next few days
