- (19:04) Jeremie: It's available here: https://devengage.etherpad.mozilla.org/46
- (19:04) dvincent: I'm here! sorry
- (19:04) dvincent: late
- (19:04) Jeremie: I get all CSS content from MDN and organize some possible change (moving/merging/rewriting)
- (19:05) chadsansing: also here :)
- (19:05) Jeremie: I'll ask tomorrow to dev-mdc mailing list for deep comment
- (19:06) Jeremie: Except if there is some opposition I'll start implementing this (and provide guidance to help) next week
- (19:07) Jeremie: Is there any question so far?
- (19:07) klez: jeremie, that's pretty articulate :)
- (19:07) Jeremie: klez: Thanks :)
- (19:07) Jeremie: I hope CSS guys would be able to tell what's missing or need to be improved
- (19:08) Heather: hello o/
- (19:08) Jeremie: For instance, I don't feel comfortable with the "Key concept" part
- (19:08) klez: not a css guy myself, but maybe I can help with "testing"
- (19:08) Jeremie: It exist but need to be organized or merge into other content. I don't know what's better at that point
- (19:08) andrew: Greetings Heather :)
- (19:09) klez: hi heather :)
- (19:09) Heather: :)
- (19:09) Jeremie: Okay, more to discuss about this on the mailing list tomorrow :)
- (19:09) klez: and hi chadsansing and dvincent :)
- (19:09) jsx: So is the CSS LA going to be a page with a collection of links to existing articles?
- (19:10) dvincent: this is really cool, Jeremie!
- (19:10) Jeremie: jsx: Part of it but the plan is also to rewrite/update the CSS Getting started guide under /Learn
- (19:10) Jeremie: meaning: this https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/Guide/CSS/Getting_Started
- (19:11) Jeremie: will become: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Learn/CSS/Basics
- (19:11) Heather: yeah that totally needs an update
- (19:12) dvincent: will the links all still work? Are there going to be redirects?
- (19:12) jsx: Cool. I hope it will be more tutorial-ish when it's done
- (19:12) Jeremie: So the current plan is very rough but it will be refine as it goes in the next days :)
- (19:12) dvincent: (I know I always ask the boring questions)
- (19:12) Jeremie: dvincent: There is always redirect ;)
- (19:12) dvincent: Thank goodness. :)
- (19:13) Jeremie: dvincent: That's one of the purpose of the etherpad I made: figuring what are the redirect needed
- (19:13) Jeremie: jsx: Me too :)
- (19:13) dvincent: It's really awesome.
- (19:14) Jeremie: dvincent: But far from done ;)
- (19:14) Jeremie: Okay, any question before moving forward?
- (19:14) Heather: nope
- (19:15) klez: nope
Trello board review
- (19:15) Jeremie: https://trello.com/b/LDggrYSV
- (19:15) Jeremie: It seams things has been very calm this days
- (19:16) Heather: yes not much going on
- (19:16) Jeremie: Anything to share about what is planned for each of you?
- (19:16) klez: i should move a couple cards around when i get home
- (19:16) Heather: I have been bust with a sick kiddo last week and life stuff
- (19:16) Heather: busy
- (19:17) Heather: Plan to try and work on some things this week
- (19:17) klez: we had a small contribution to the python tut, but I'll keep this for the twitter stories :D
- (19:17) Jeremie: Heather: I hope he/she's better
- (19:17) Heather: yes she is ty Jeremie
- (19:17) klez: (sorry if i randomly interject but i'm slow typing :/)
- (19:17) Jeremie: klez: okay :)
- (19:18) Heather: i looked at your python stuff klez and as someone who knows nothing about it it's a bit overwhelming for me to take it all in
- (19:18) Jeremie: Okay, so far so good for the trello board. As usual, let everybody knows if you need some help :)
- (19:18) klez: heather, do you think splitting it up a bit would help or are thr subsections too long?
- (19:18) klez: the*
- (19:19) Heather: yes it would help splitting it up to digest a small piece at a time IMO
- (19:19) klez: will try,tnx
- (19:19) Heather: np :)
- (19:19) Jeremie: Heather: That kind of feedback is always very helping when we are designing beginner content. Thanks :D
- (19:20) Heather: i looked at it a while ago just forgot to mention it
- (19:20) Heather: :P
- (19:20) Heather: yw Jeremie and klez
- (19:20) Jeremie: Okay, last chance for trello before moving on :)
Twitter storytelling
- (19:21) Jeremie: dvincent, the show is yours :)
- (19:22) dvincent: I think we're pretty much just truckin' along. Any recommendations?
- (19:22) Heather: doing great dvincent!
- (19:22) dvincent: I did focus on a lot of responsive design stuff last week, and we have another few posts of it coming up Wednesday
- (19:22) Jeremie: dvincent: Is there any feedback we should be aware of?
- (19:22) klez: dvincent, I wanted to say that the twitter campaign for the python area got one contributor :)
- (19:23) Heather: yay!
- (19:23) dvincent: I'm afraid I might be posting stuff that is not technical enough, so if anyone has recommendations of more technical posts, I'd love to hear them
- (19:23) dvincent: GREAT! :D
- (19:23) Jeremie: klez, dvincent: \o/
- (19:23) klez: python tutorial, sorry
- (19:23) dvincent: that's fantastic!
- (19:24) dvincent: Since my criteria for what to tweet is "Am I interested enough to want to try this?" and I'm not a developer, my stuff is pretty beginnerish.
- (19:24) klez: dvincent, could it be ideal to share the tweets on the ml and get feedback before tweeting?
- (19:24) klez: would*
- (19:24) dvincent: the push notifications doc was awesome.
- (19:24) dvincent: It adds another step, which is less than ideal, since I have so many tweets to push. I do 4 per day
- (19:24) dvincent: scheduled twice per week
- (19:25) klez: got it :)
- (19:25) dvincent: I don't know what more complicated things people want to know. I don't even know what CORS is, but I see people talk about it
- (19:25) dvincent: so if there are things like that you think I should tweet about, that would be good to know
- (19:26) Jeremie: dvincent: Do not to ask for that during the Wednesday community meeting as well ;)
- (19:26) Jeremie: Do not hesitate
- (19:26) klez: maybe sharing a digest every two weeks could help?
- (19:26) dvincent: I'm not in the wednesday meeting. :) Should I be?
- (19:26) Jeremie: dvincent: Definitely IMO
- (19:26) Heather: def. dvincent
- (19:27) Jeremie: dvincent: This where you'll here the biggest stories ;)
- (19:27) dvincent: a digest of the tweets? sure! should I start an etherpad or something? Right now, I have a spreadsheet for the View Source tweets
- (19:27) Jeremie: s/here/hear
- (19:27) dvincent: well heck! when is it? is it here?
- (19:27) dvincent: that sounds good!
- (19:27) Jeremie: klez: What would be the purpose of such diggest?
- (19:28) Heather: klez like here's what has been happening with MDN this week?
- (19:28) Jeremie: dvincent: Yes, the community meeting is on that channel every 2 week
- (19:28) dvincent: or you could just go to http://www.twitter.com/MozDevNet :)
- (19:28) Jeremie: dvincent: ask jswisher for details
- (19:28) dvincent: oh awesomesauce! will do
- (19:29) jsx: I would be interested in reading a digest of what goes in the twitter channel too. I liked when dvincent used to post [twitter question] mails in dev-mdc
- (19:29) klez: jeremie dvincent you right, it's OK to just take a look on Twitter
- (19:29) Jeremie: :)
- (19:29) dvincent: jsx: I'm getting better at answering my own questions now. :)
- (19:29) Heather: :)
- (19:30) dvincent: Since i'm getting more familiar with the docs.
- (19:30) jsx: :p
- (19:30) Jeremie: dvincent: I would be interested on having a digest of the feedback you get in order to help us improving ourselves
- (19:31) dvincent: ok!
- (19:31) Jeremie: Some sort of a twitter feeling report (but only if you have times and tools for this)
- (19:31) dvincent: I think there's actually a sentiment report in one of the tools I use. I can see if it looks useful.
- (19:32) Jeremie: \o/
- (19:32) Jeremie: Okay, any last question or topic before we end that meeting?
- (19:33) Heather: nope great meeting!
