  • (19:00) Jeremie: Feel free to add anything you want to discuss.

  • (19:00) klez: o/
  • (19:01) Sphinx: o/
  • (19:01) chadsansing: o/

  • (19:01) jsx: o/
  • (19:01) Sphinx: that a nice "garde à vous" here
  • (19:01) sheppy: Quite a turnout :)
  • (19:01) Sphinx: that's *
  • (19:01) bassam: o/
  • (19:03) Jeremie: Hi chadsansing :) Welcome, to your first meeting.
  • (19:03) chadsansing: Thnx muchly :)
  • (19:03) Jeremie: Okay, let's get started
  • (19:04) Jeremie: There is no action item from the last time
  • (19:04) Jeremie: So our first topis is: Creating an HTML cheatsheet
  • (19:04) Jeremie: Today I had a conversation on Twitter about having a simple HTML cheatsheet on MDN
  • (19:04) Jeremie: https://twitter.com/DavidBruant/status/653505445122965504
  • (19:05) Jeremie: It sounds as a very good idea. If any one is interrested to create it, feel free :) It's a nice opportunity to write something very simple and straightforward about HTML.
  • (19:05) Heather: o/
  • (19:05) Jeremie: dvincent: I think it would worth tweeting about it. I set up a trello card if you want a link to share: https://trello.com/c/qsgSpZ6x
  • (19:05) Jeremie: Hi Heather :)
  • (19:05) klez: hi heather o/
  • (19:05) Heather: hello all
  • (19:06) dvincent: Ok!
  • (19:06) Jeremie: dvincent: Thanks :)
  • (19:06) Sphinx: looks like a cool short mission for a newcomer regarding the /Learn/HTML :)
  • (19:07) chadsansing: I'll share it to the clubs thread on Discourse & update the link as it shows up on MDN.
  • (19:07) dvincent: I don't know if the twitter community at large knows how to use Trello or the significance of Trello cards. We may just want to make a stub page and call for people to contribute.
  • (19:07) dvincent: It gives people a runway
  • (19:07) Jeremie: Sphinx: Yes absolutely :)
  • (19:08) chadsansing: Might be cool for club members to contribute.
  • (19:08) Jeremie: dvincent: Yes, I understand. But I hate stub as they tend to be forgotten with poor content :-/
  • (19:08) Jeremie: chadsansing: Absolutly :)
  • (19:08) jsx: Jeremie: you meant a new page that shows element usage examples side by side with how they look, right?
  • (19:08) klez: Jeremie, dvincent is right, having a bit of a stub makes people more comfortable with first time contribution
  • (19:09) Jeremie: jsx, but just the basic stuff (no need to dig into the 140 HTML tags)
  • (19:09) dvincent: maybe I could put out a call for people to brainstorm on what topics they might want included in the stub, and then I (or someone, who we should name) would update the stub and tag the person who suggested it
  • (19:10) jsx: Ok
  • (19:10) Jeremie: klez: Yes, I agree, I just make sure every body is aware of the draw back if no one is monitoring the work
  • (19:10) Jeremie: dvincent: Yes, that sounds very cool
  • (19:10) dvincent: might be a cool project to see if we could rope people in. I would not mind adding that to my workflow for the next week or so.
  • (19:10) Jeremie: dvincent: \o/
  • (19:11) dvincent: {you'll probably have to walk me through how to create/update stub pages, since I've only done minor updates}
  • (19:11) chadsansing: Please send me a link to the page once it's created; sharing here: https://discourse.webmaker.org/t/html-cheatsheet-to-share/187
  • (19:11) Jeremie: dvincent: No problem I do not have time to do it myself but I can mentor anyone who wish to help :)
  • (19:11) Sphinx: (there is no such thing as "minor update")
  • (19:11) Jeremie: Sphinx: +1
  • (19:12) Jeremie: chadsansing: Okay :)
  • (19:12) chadsansing: Sweet,
  • (19:12) dvincent: ok, well, updating the MDN twitter handle to be the new one not the old one. ;)
  • (19:12) dvincent: woo hoo!
  • (19:13) Jeremie: Okay, any question or can we move for ward?
  • (19:13) klez: I'd do anything for ward, that guy is great :P
  • (19:13) Jeremie: :P

  • (19:14) Heather: yes very nice Jeremie
  • (19:14) Jeremie: You can follow the progress on that trello card: https://trello.com/c/NAuDmn9u
  • (19:15) sheppy: Coolio
  • (19:15) Jeremie: Thanks Heather for reviewing the first article
  • (19:15) Heather: you're very welcome :)
  • (19:15) Jeremie: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Learn/CSS/Basics
  • (19:15) Heather: trying to stay on top of the high priorite items :)
  • (19:16) Heather: priority
  • (19:16) Jeremie: More to come :) In the next meetings I'll provide update only during the trello board review as it's "Work In Progress" now :)
  • (19:16) Sphinx: and some French MercrediDoc attendee even started the localization :)
  • (19:16) Jeremie: Sphinx: Yes, MercrediDoc in Paris is a Huge success with around 10 people each time :)
  • (19:16) Sphinx: (though I suspect that it might be related with this same Jeremie organising this event )
  • (19:17) Heather: Jeremie's the man :P
  • (19:17) Jeremie: Sphinx: You could do it as well, I'm sure ;)
  • (19:17) Jeremie: Okay, any quastion about the Learning CSS plan?
  • (19:18) Heather: nope

: Trello board review

  • (19:19) Jeremie: Anything to share about your various cards?
  • (19:19) Jeremie: I did some soft clean up (removing some old stuff or updating cards)
  • (19:20) Heather: nothing here just been doing reviews and a little dabbling in glossary
  • (19:20) klez: I don't have time to follow my cards at the moment :(
  • (19:20) Sphinx: well since klez asked for help reviewing the Python article and since I had some time ...
  • (19:20) Sphinx: :)
  • (19:20) Sphinx: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Learn/Python/Lists
  • (19:20) Jeremie: Klez, could you take a look at the Glossary related cards to see if they are all still relevant?
  • (19:20) klez: yep, Sphinx did work, as usual!
  • (19:21) Jeremie: Sphinx: \o/
  • (19:21) Heather: +1 Sphinx
  • (19:21) klez: Jeremie, I'm on a flacky setup at the moment, I'll check during the week
  • (19:22) Jeremie: klez: No problem, there's no hurry :)
  • (19:22) Sphinx: thanks Heather for reviewing (almost) immediately
  • (19:22) Sphinx: (and I should have removed this "almost")
  • (19:23) Heather: yw anytime :)
  • (19:23) Jeremie: Ok so I guess we can move forward?

Twitter review and storytelling

  • (19:24) Jeremie: dvincent: So what'up on planet Twitter? :)
  • (19:24) dvincent: I don't have any really compelling updates. We've been mostly focused on View Source Conf
  • (19:24) Heather: dvincent awesome work!
  • (19:24) Jeremie: Yes, of course, I tend to forgot about it :P
  • (19:24) dvincent: Pretty much everything we have is going to View Source right now. :)
  • (19:25) Jeremie: I guess it will be the case up to the first week of November
  • (19:25) dvincent: But I'll kick up the cheat sheet project this week (probably Wednesday or Thursday once I get myself organized and we get that stub page)
  • (19:25) Jeremie: :) Thanks
  • (19:26) dvincent: yw! happy to be here!
  • (19:26) Jeremie: dvincent: Let me know if you need some help
  • (19:26) dvincent: just settin' up the stub. But that's about it, I think. :)
  • (19:27) Jeremie: Okay, try and ping me if you fail or if you feel stuck or for review ;)
  • (19:27) dvincent: k!
  • (19:28) Jeremie: Okay, any last question or topic before we end that meeting?
  • (19:28) Sphinx: French l10n should be sync'd with en-US tonight or tomorrow :)
  • (19:28) Sphinx: that's it
  • (19:28) Jeremie: Sphinx: You're a beast
  • (19:29) Jeremie: :)
