Summary: In keeping with the Mozilla Foundation's mission to grow a generation of Web Makers, we have been developing tools and holding workshops to concretely demonstrate Web technology and the concept of openness. During this session we invite participants to take part in one such workshop, the Parapara Animation workshop, as we discuss how convey the technology and philosophy behind the Open Web. Furthermore, we will share the lessons we have learned from running such workshops including how they can be used to further grow the Mozilla community.

How your session furthers the MozCamp Goals: This workshop provides several concrete examples of community-building in keeping with the goals of the Grow Mozilla track. It also provides an interesting example of a sophisticated mobile HTML 5 app that demonstrates some of the concepts covered in the Apps and Firefox OS track.

Expected Outcome or Deliverable: Participants will be equipped to run workshops and in so doing, encouraged, perhaps even inspired, with new ways of engaging and growing their community through creative applications of the open Web.

Desired Audience Type or Skill-set: Anyone interested in growing Mozilla.
