Summary: Firefox OS is arriving very soon, and we’ll get a lot of new users who will want to learn all about their new phones and solve problems that may appear. Firefox for Android is already here, and it needs a robust community-powered support platform to continue being awesome.

So Mozilla Support is debuting a mobile web experience that’s crafted from the ground up to work with any smartphone. (To my knowledge, it’s the only mobile support of its kind anywhere). It will support Firefox Desktop, Firefox for Mobile, and Firefox OS.

This results in two awesome things:

  1. You can now contribute no matter what device you’re on at the moment
  2. Your contribution will impact a lot more users (a lot of new ones, too) around the world

In this session, you’ll learn how to:

  1. Start contributing to Mozilla Support from any device
  2. Search for, read, and answer a user’s question
  3. Reach existing contributors when you need some help
  4. Become a more effective contributor by knowing how to look for answers


How your session furthers the MozCamp Goals: the success of both Firefox OS (at launch) and Firefox for Mobile (in the long run) depends on a lot of things. One of them is a having a global community of active contributors who give amazing support to our user base. This session will give our core community the tools to start helping users, in a way that’s even easier than before.

Expected Outcome or Deliverable: New contributors across locales who commit some of their time to help solve other user’s problem on Mozilla Support. And new contributors who will recruit others who can help.

Desired Audience Type or Skill-set: Firefox for Mobile users, Firefox OS enthusiasts. Basic knowledge of Firefox.
