Roles and Drivers

Communications Director

  • Draft and release communications updating the Mozillians on the planning and application process and timeline
  • Maintain consistent communications with MozCamp attendees
  • Work with keynote speakers to draft and refine their talks (as well as manage any other Communication Team members who are also contributing to this endeavor)
  • Manage keynote practice schedule on the Friday prior to MozCamp

Executive Liaison

  • Manage relationships with Executives attending MozCamp and support their needs
  • Liaison with Communications Director regarding the keynotes and executive press activities
  • Collaborate with entire group on the composition of the executive guidebooks

Financial Oversight

  • Review vendor proposed budget
  • Participate in vendor approval process
  • Help track budget to include additional costs over the course of the planning process

Wiki Manager

  • Create and maintain the MozCamp 2013 (and individual MozCamps') wiki with updated information in a timely manner based on the decisions of the Working Group
  • Work with Track Leads to make sure their relevant content is included as appropriate
  • Ensure MozCamp schedule is current

Partner Relations

  • Serve as the liaison for any partners that may be attending or involved in the event
  • Work with the Executive Liaison and Communications Director to ensure they have the appropriate materials for their time at MozCamp

Content Manager

  • Design the MozCamp experience, namely around the keynotes and show flow
  • Work with the Stage Director and Manager to ensure the keynotes align with the schedule set forth

IT Director

  • Take part in initial vendor interviews
  • Attend initial site visit to ensure building and network are sufficient for the event (or how they need to be supplemented)
  • Ship additional equipment to the MozCamp location for the event (as necessary)
  • Set up network at event space prior to event start

Regional Planning Committee Driver + Liaison

  • Work with group to draft a set of nominations for a planning committee in each region
  • Secure commitment from nominated individuals to take part in the committee and facilitate a meeting with this group on a bi-weekly basis
  • Report back to the Working Group the decisions (and collaboration opportunities) from the regional planning committee
  • Determine leadership roles available at MozCamp for planning committee members and train/mentor these individuals into the roles which would be most appropriate for them

Track Lead Driver + Liaison

  • Nominate list of six track leads (based on content priorities) for each MozCamp and socialize with the Working Group for their approval and feedback
  • Help Track Leads navigate session submissions and serve as a liaison between the Working Group and Track Leads to finalize the MozCamp schedule
  • Once selected, train Track Leads and guide them through their tasks (including scheduling) leading up to and at MozCamp
  • Re-group with Track Leads to determine what worked and lessons learned for the next MozCamp

Volunteer Attendance Management

  • Lead Working Group effort to determine and document 2013 policies and procedures surrounding volunteer nominations and the selection process
  • Reach out to MozCamp stakeholders for their feedback and nominations for MozCamp and present this list to the working council for review and approval
  • Manage attendance list (and make adjustments) over the course of each MozCamp

  • Lead Working Group effort to determine and document 2013 policies and procedures surrounding paid-staff application and selection process
  • Facilitate the paid-staff application process
  • Reach out to MoCo stakeholders (eg. managers) for their feedback and direction as to how to proceed with Working Group attendance recommendations
