Notes

Phonebook

  • Release for 4/4
    • tofumatt will take the reins
    • blocker: can't get stage to build; need some anonymized data
    • cherrypicking might have caused the problems on stage
      • master is always deployable; shouldn't be landing things on master that aren't done (e.g. sorl pics and migrations)
      • issue has been around landing things on mozillians-dev with a small amount of qa/product test time before it freezes and goes to stage. QA and Dev process are mismatched right now. Options available such as doing a try-server approach with localtunnel/pagekite and testing before it lands on master.
      • Things should be specc-ed out beforehand; code review should include functionality review.
      • Take-aways: Have mbrandt/aakashd look at major functionality changes
  • Bugzilla Mgmt
    • Move from Websites/Mozillians.org to Community Tools/Phonebook & Taskboard since we're doing Bugzilla mgmt
    • mbrandt will take the lead there
  • UX/Design Update: Search
    • Search box autocomplete
    • Vouching and inviting multiple users, and how vouching works for Stewards as opposed to normal users
    • Partial keyword matches is now highlighted
    • Meta informations like Groups, Skills and Locations are given visual indicators
    • No more “Browse Groups”. The top 10–20 groups on the front page is all we need—for now
      • Question: should popular groups be sorted (into design, marketing, dev, etc.)? If so, how should we sort them?
    • Front page now displays good first bugs, rather than list of stewards, so user can get to actionable items faster
      • We need a way of pulling good first bugs from bugzilla to populate this list. Possible?
    • We also need the ability for search result pages to have customizable headers, which Owen is working on at the moment (yay!)
  • Locations
    • tallOwen will follow-up tofumatt about the small changes needed there.
  • URL Change
    • aakashd is on it.
