Getting up and running with IRC (Internet Relay Chat) for Penelope

Mozilla has basic information on IRC setup on their wiki, including a link to the Chatzilla Add-on (extension) for Firefox.

irchelp.org has some info, including FAQs and links to various clients for Mac, Windows and UNIX.

For Mac users, we suggest using the GUI clients Adium 1.4 Beta or Colloquy.

Windows Users have a few options:

• Trillian offers basic support for IRC.

• mIRC seems to be fairly popular.

Linux/Unix users have a few options See these links:

Once you have an IRC client installed and working, connect to the server 'irc.mozilla.org' and join the 'channel' (room) '#penelope'.
