There have been a few really high-profile regression in Mozilla.com's redirects; in order to turn-around testing much more quickly and with more confidence, we should automate Mozilla.com URLs as much as possible.

What we need:

  • in-product page testing
  • locale-redirect testing from Mozilla.com -> Mozilla Europe

Ensure that bugs like:

don't happen again.

These should help us get started; we should also work with morgamic and buchanan to figure out what else needs testing.

The tests should, if possible

  • be able to be run on trunk.stage as well as production
  • be well-commented enough that someone completely unfamiliar with the tests can understand what each does
  • test both http/https
