Discussion Items

Project Status

CrashKill [tomcat/marcia]

  • Notes from CrashKill meeting here: https://wiki.mozilla.org/CrashKill/2010-08-10
  • We decided to sent out meeting notices/announcements to the community
  • marcia followed up on bug 567012 since she is still seeing issues with bugs with the correct stack not being listed in the Crash Reports data
  • bug 579558 continues to be a top crash on both the trunk and the betas - need to get some better data on how to report some of the other sites that are crashing.
  • Microsoft pushed http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/Bulletin/MS10-060.mspx finally :)
  • MarcoZ: Have been working with people over the past week to try and resolve their Firefox 3.6.x crashing issues. Many of them told me they didn't send in their crash reports because they think these won't go anywhere anyway. They all acted surprised when I told them we are actually evaluating these quite thoroughly and acting upon them. My suggestion therefore: Try to come up with a way to give even more incentive for people to send in these reports to us. Make it plain clear that we *are* acting on these reports

Accessibility Status Update [marco]

  • We have a bunch of blocking bugs that we'd like to land, like relanding bug 576777, and landing bug 576838, bug 420993 and bug 583952, but the tree is constantly in such a bad state currently that David and I haven't found a good time to actually (re)land these patches.
  • Have 1 more approvals for 3.6.9 which either I or the original patch author are going to land this week.

Community Building (ideas and progress) [marcia/tomcat]

QA Videos [marcia]

  • International Promo Video meeting is set for today at 1 PM.
  • Need to figure out who will shoot their video in Mt. View during the work week and schedule time with Rainer
    • Henrik?

Community Events [marcia/tomcat]

  • Meetup at BlogHer a success
    • Lots of interest in developing addons and having continuing Mozilla events
      • One of the attendees will contact other Meetup organizers he knows to see if someone would be interested in running the meetup going forward
    • We should have an Addons or Jetpack event in NY since there is a lot of interest.

QMO [aakashd]

  • Craig Cook is fixing bugs related to our upgrade to WP 3.0 and will release this week.
  • Working on defining QMO 3.0. A webdev planning bug has been filed to schedule out development time for QMO with Craig Cook.
