With Sheriffs in different timezones we have the need to make handovers as good as possible to

a) ensure Quality on the trees to avoid merged over regressions

b) make the work of on-duty Sheriffs as good and easy as possible and not to let the following sheriff run into problems when he/she is not aware of current problems

In order to reach this 2 goals we created a IRC Channel #sheriffs and also the email template below to have a information-workflow between Sheriffduty Shifts.

The Handover Email should only take a few minutes but can have great impact in our teamwork to make the team aware of problems and things to take care of in the next on-duty shift.

Email Template (please sent this to sheriffs@mozilla.org)

 Handover Report from [March 8 2am PST}
- Guess of oldest possibly mergeable cset at the end of the shift (note, this does not need to be a PGO changesets, its just a recommendation of the last possibly cset at the end of your shift)
- Handover Notes about things that happen during your shift and that the following on-duty Sheriffs need to be aware of:
- Others (things you like to call out but not directly related to a handover like as example checkin-needed, uplifts etc) :

The benefit of the email is also that we include our community sheriffs more and they can follow about whats going on.
