McAfee: formatting fix, add safe mode instructions
== McAfee ==
McAfee has had major problems with Thunderbirdover the years, causing crashes and poor performance, "Not Responding", "Unresponsive Script", and other issues. For example [http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=13985921#p13985921], [http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=14013179#p14013179], [http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=13495577#p13495577], [http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=12678533#p12678533], [http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=13483493#p13483493], [http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=13127165#p13127165], [http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=13846427#p13846427], [http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?p=13482389#p13482389 (in 2013)], [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1021448#answer-649815],

[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1054542], {{bug|592303}}.  We recommend you do all of the following:
* Disable/delete '''McAfee Anti-Spam Thunderbird Extension''' in Tools | Add-ons | Extensions (It is safe to remove the add-on, and is absolutely not needed to have excellent virus protection.)
* Disable email attachment scanning (it individually scans all emails which slows down Thunderbird) - '''Uncheck Email attachments under Real Time Scanning > Settings > Scan these attachments and locations'''
* Please write/Call McAfee support to inform them of your difficulty. They can't fix what they do not know about.
If nothing else none of the above helps, and you suspect McAfee is the cause then you may need to remove McAfee using the [http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS101331 McAfee Consumer Products Removal tool], and seek different antivirus software. If you are uncertain that McAfee is the cause, you can test whether something started during Thunderbird or Windows startup is involved:* Start MS-Windows in safe mode* Sith Windows in safe mode, start [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/safe-mode|Thunderbird in safe mode].If the problem is gone then you must dig to find which Windows installed program or Thunderbird addon is causing the problem.
