 | There has been ongoing discussion in the community about creating a [http://www.intothefuzz.com/2007/10/15/mozilla-power/ Powered by Mozilla] logo that people and organizations can use as part of their projects or products.  We have been working on creating some guidelines to determine how the logo can be used and this page lists some open issues about technology that still need to be sorted out.  If you have feedback, comments or suggestions about this information, feel free to edit this page or add notes to the discussion page.

 | If we're creating a program about Mozilla technologies to be used with the Powered by Mozilla logo, we need to figure out what technologies to include in that program. We need to be specific since we don't want someone to be able to check out one file from our repositories and then claim that their application is Powered by Mozilla.
  | | Several pages related to Powered by Mozilla have been posted on www.mozilla.org and other sites: |

 | ===Proposed Criteria===

 | The following are proposed criteria that can be used to determine which bits of code to include in the program:
  | | There are also some pages we want to post: |
  |  |
 | * The code should be an official and currently active Mozilla project | | * Legal Guidelines |
 | * The code should be included in an official Mozilla product or it should be packaged for re-use by other products | | * Logo Request Form |
  |  |
 | ===Technology List===
  | | There are other types of pages we may also want to post, such as information about why to use these technologies, getting started guides that provide links to technical documentation, community guides that link to relevant newsgroups or forums.  Feel free to make other suggestions and we can work on the content for these pages on the wiki. |

 | The following is an initial pass at a list of technologies that meet the proposed criteria:

  | | There is a lot about the community of people who are reusing Mozilla technologies that we don't know (the term dark matter comes up often in relation to this part of the community). Creating a survey to get a better understanding of needs, activities, etc seems like a good thing to do along with talking to people about the Powered by Mozilla logo. |
