Upcoming releases: v60
* Get the '''beta''' from [https://www.mozilla.org/thunderbird/channel/ the future of Thunderbird].
== Upcoming releases ==
* Version 68 and version 60:** Users are not yet being automatically updated to Thunderbird 68. Unless you want to be on the bleeding edge you will want to stay on version 60, and wait for your automatic update to 68 some time in September. ** Version 60 users will first be updated to 60.9.0, which will the last in the v60 series.
* Thunderbird does not release on specific scheduled dates</u>, because we ship when '''code is ready and tested'''. We roughly <u>track</u> (i.e. do not strictly follow**) the '''ESR''' release schedule of Firefox. See the ESR column of [[RapidRelease/Calendar]].
** Releases typically happen 1-3 weeks after published Firefox dates. But it could be more, or could be less, because we ship when '''code is ready and tested'''. In other words dates cannot be predicted. If you see a date you should take it with a grain of salt. If you do not see the "newest" version listed at the [https://www.thunderbird.net/ Thunderbird home page], do not worry, the new version is just not yet ready. New features and fixes happen as volunteers have time to work on them and fix them - there are no schedules for fixes and features which can be communicated to users. If you want new features sooner, then please help us [https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/get-involved/ test and code], or use the beta mentioned above.
