The Firefox documentation cycle is 8 weeks long spread out over 12 weeks. We'll meet as group each week to go over the tasks for that week and answer any questions participants may have.

  • Weeks 1 & 2 - Research. As a group we'll use the Flight Tracking page, feature pages, marketing notes and bugzilla to determine what features will need to be documented. Then we determine what existing articles will need to be updated and what new documents, if any, will need to be created. Then we'll assign documentation responsibilities to participants.
  • Weeks 3 - 5 - Draft updates and new documents. We have three weeks to work on drafting the new content. Article reviews will take place during this time as necessary, continuing though week 6 with the finalization of the articles.
  • Week 6 - Finalize the documentation. During this week, the new Firefox features will be available in Beta (and some may not have made it this far) and their final functionality can be verified and screenshots can be taken.
  • Weeks 7 - 10 - Articles are frozen for localization.
  • Weeks 11 & 12 - Update documentation based on release feedback. Firefox is released to the public and we use feedback collected from users to update and clarify the articles if necessary.
