  • ======== AGENDA ========

QUESTIONS FOR THE FIREFOX FOCUS AND FIREFOX FOR IOS DEVELOPERS HERE: (PLEASE ADD YOURS BELOW)

What is your name and what do you do at Mozilla?

  1. Stefan () - Firefox for iOS / Engineering manager + other (mobile) projects ;)
  2. Sebastian () - Focus for Android
  3. Barbara () - Product Manager for Focus / Klar
  4. Susheel () - Focus Engineering Manager + NMX

What are some of the features you expect to see users trying out for the first time this weekend?

  1. Stefan: we just fixed FF for iOS 9.0 (going live tomorrow morning!); a few interesting features: tracking protection (a 1st on iOS!) - copying Focus + bookmark sync (first release where it works well)
  2. Barbara: Klar & Focus have an update as well - including multitasking! Opening new tabs while browsing was missed by a lot of users, so now you can get more tabs up while using Focus

How can we reach you and what would you want to know about in the SUPPORT Forums?

  1. Sebastian - you can ping me on IRC (#focus) / Slack for Focus OR file an issue on the Github project page... and there's a mailing list for discussions -
  2. Barbara: firefox-focus-public@mozilla.com; specific feature requests benefit from describing use cases and being specific about solving problems
  3. Susheel - sdaswani@mozilla.com
  4. Stefan: start with the readme files in the Github project... IRC, email, Bugzilla, etc. - it's all out there

Will downloads of .apk of Nightly (that update outside of Google Play) still be made available to users? (We have users that really like this)

  1. Sebastian - builds will always be on archive.mozilla.org; so far no decision about changing this - .apk + our own updater; Focus .apks will be made public, too - not only on Github

What is the current ETA for Fennec bookmark management?

  1. Sebastian - no exact state known for now; the Taipei folks are working on this; Jing-wei (jwu) will know current state: jwu@mozilla.com

Is Focus iOS likely to be made more like Focus for Android?

  1. Susheel - our UX folks are working on parity between the two platforms as we speak. Obviously there are always differences based on platform capabilities but we will strive for as much feature parity as possible.

Zerda (These will be forwarded to Roland/Zerda devs)

Whilst Project Zerda is targeted at one locale, will it be available for all to use?

  1. Launch in Indonesian as an experiment - and in English - [Roland] it will be available in all to use in those 2 languages AFAIK, will confirm

Will downloads of .apk of Project Zerda (that update outside of Google Play) be made available to users? - [Roland] I don't know I will find out (I don't see why not :-) ! but maybe i am missing something :-) ?) When will Project Zerda lose its "code name" and be launched?

  1. Soon (Roland?)- [Roland] in early October

Is there a Zerda Trello we can follow? (Feedback from Focus (Android) is that users want more features, a Trello board will help us to manage expectations) - [Roland] Zerda doesn't use Trello or bugzilla, they track everything using github https://github.com/mozilla-tw/Zerda/projects Further to Project Zerda and Focus for Android, are we likely to see a complete rebuild of Fennec? - [Roland] - no idea, my guess is no, I will ask Can/should we recommend Zerda to Focus users wanting more features?

  1. Focus is not being replaced by Zerda - Zerda is an experiment as of now - [Roland] what Vesper said
