How to get involved

While we are always happy to have pull requests or issues opened on our projects, the intention of our contributor program is to encourage deeper, more meaningful, longer term learning. To get started, let us know you are interested in participating by emailing firefox-test-engineering@mozilla.com or stopping by our IRC channel, #fx-test on irc.mozilla.org, and say hi along with what kind of skills you have and what types of work you'd be interested in (see the project list below).

After that, you will be given a small task which you will work with one of our mentors on completing. This is for you to get comfortable with how we work and also for us to assess the suitability of working with you for an extended period. If everything looks good, you'll be matched up with a project. You'll be encouraged to attend our meetings, share your progress, and maybe even teach us a thing or two!

Who should reach out

Our contributors come from many backgrounds. We typically look for some web, programming, or graphic design skills (depending on available projects, see below), formal education is a nice to have but far from required. We're more interested in you being interested in working with us and having some basic abilities and curiosity.

Mentor Rotation

Our mentors rotate ever 3 months, so skills and project fits change often. Check back if you don't see something for you :)
