Hello there, and welcome to the AMO test day! Thanks for volunteering your time and energy to help us test the new version of addons.mozilla.org! Below, you'll find the setup information and some use-cases to help guide you in your testing; feel free, though, to go off on your own and just ad-hoc test! Ad-hoc can be as valuable as--if not more, sometimes--planned, methodical testing.

Mockups: http://people.mozilla.com/~jscott/bandwagon/clearleft/v11/
Staging server: https://preview.addons.mozilla.org

How to test:

  1. Using the set of mockups (see above) as a point of reference, test the site using whatever browser you have for:
    • functionality
    • layout (run in Safari/Google Chrome/IE 7/8/Opera)
    • usability (does something not make sense? seem hard to use?)
  2. Use the current site as a comparison; while we'll be changing things around in small ways (new styles, etc.), the basic functionality should continue to be the same as http://addons.mozilla.org
  3. Here are some use cases:
    • Search for an add-on/theme/search engine/plugin
    • Download/install an add-on
    • Log in/log out
    • Post/read reviews
    • Fill in/change your user profile/password, etc.

If you find a bug, please file it in Bugzilla, by choosing the component "public pages" after clicking on the link above. Please check here before filing your bug to make sure your bug is not already filed.

Thanks again!
