  • [Internal Brown Bag] Europe’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Mozilla: The Why, The Who and The What (10am PT Thursday)
    • Have you heard about Europe’s upcoming new data protection law, the GDPR? Maybe you’ve heard a lot, maybe a little, or maybe nothing at all. This new regulation will go into effect in Europe on May 25, 2018 and creates one set of data protection rules for all companies operating in the EU, wherever they are based. It is designed to give people more control over their personal data and hold all companies who process that data to a higher standard of accountability.
    • This call is designed for all staff who work with products, services, or programs that involve personal information (or if you are just curious), Join Raegan MacDonald from Policy, Marshall Erwin and Alicia Gray from Trust & Safety for an overview what GDPR means to Mozilla both from a policy and operations perspective.
    • If you are in Mountain View, please join us in the Commons area. All other locations: this event will be live-streamed on Air Mozilla at https://air.mozilla.org/mozilla-gdpr/ -- and we'll also have an Slack channel open for questions: #moco

Speakers

The limit is 3 minutes per topic. It's like a lightning talk, but don't feel that you have to have slides in order to make a presentation. If you plan on showing a video, you need to contact the Air Mozilla team before the day of the meeting or you will be deferred to the next week. The meeting is streamed in a 4:3 format in order to allow for split screen. If your slides are 16:9 "widescreen" format, please indicate in the "Sharing" column below.
