Timeline: Complete by 2011-01-31

• Keeping track of updates in this document Top desktop articles done and passed on to localizers 2011-02-03.
• The rest of the articles will updated and given to localizers in batches as over the rest of the quarter.
• There are are a number of changes happening to Firefox 4 after Jan 31.
  • A version of the status bar is coming.
  • The panorama button has been removed by default and ways to discover it are being added.
  • Session restore is changing.
  • The traditional menus are still being finalized.
• Some current Mobile docs can be combined & rewritten

Perform-a-task videos - updated for Fx4

• Private Browsing - turning Private Browsing on and off.
• How to set the home page - setting a single page and multiple pages as your home page.
• Installing the Flash plugin - show process that doesn't include the ADM.
• Clear Recent History - explain what you can clear with this function.
• How to clear the cache - use Clear recent history to clear the cache
• Enabling and disabling cookies - show where the checkbox is in the options panel
• Updating Firefox - explain that auto-update checking is on, how to change it, how to check manually
• How to make Firefox the default browser - how to recheck this setting
• Deleting cookies - use clear recent history to delete cookies and show how to delete single cookies.

New overview/tutorial videos

• Location bar autocomplete - This article needs to be updated and renamed to Awesome Bar. Video should be an overview of what can be done with the Awesome Bar. Should include Switch to Tab for Fx 4 users. Article will give step-by-step details including advanced stuff removing results and filtering for tags.
• Browsing basics - the article should be rewritten and possibly renamed (maybe Getting started with Firefox). Video should be a overview of basic Firefox usage and it's special features (Awesome bar, Panorama, Sync, etc.). Engagement has a similar video planned. This one may include more things but can possibly share content with the video from Engagement. For Firefox 3.6 users we can use the the video that Howcast produced for us.
• What's changed in Firefox 4 - Engagement has a video planned that goes over the major changes for Firefox 3.6 users upgrading to 4. I'd like to include it on an article that that briefly outlines these changes and links to our Fx 4 documentation like Why are tabs on top?, What happened to the status bar?, and What happened to the bookmarks toolbar?
• What are App Tabs? - A companion video for this article going over what App Tabs are and how to use them. This is a possible collaboration with Engagement.
• What is Panorama? - A companion video for this article going over what Panorama is and how to use it. This is a possible collaboration with Engagement.
• How do I add a device to Firefox Sync? - Video explaining how to use the new easy set up feature. Should show finding the set up code on an Android device, iPhone and another installation of Firefox.
• What is Firefox Sync? - Overview of what Sync is and how you can use it. This is a possible collaboration with Engagement.
• Customizing Firefox with add-ons - Video going over how to use the new Add-on manager to find and install Extensions and Personas. This is a possible collaboration with Engagement.
• How do I find and install Add-ons? - For mobile - video overview of how to find and install extensions and personas for mobile Firefox. This is a possible collaboration with Engagement.
• Meet Firefox for mobile - An article and video that covers basic usage and major features of mobile Firefox. This is a possible collaboration with Engagement.
