- February 2013 - Work begins
- February-April 2013 - Community calls working on the framework
- 26 April 2013 - Soft launch of first draft of Web Literacy standard
- June 2013 - Launch of beta version of Web Literacy standard
- May-September 2013 - Organizations align and test the standard, giving feedback
- October 2013 - 'Code freeze' to finalise v1.0 of the standard
- 25-27 October 2013 - v1.0 of the Web Literacy standard launched at the Mozilla Festival
