Logistics

  • 6 minutes per presentation
  • 2 minutes quick feedback after each presentation
  • Each of the six judge chooses three top projects (1st, 2nd, 3rd)
  • Community vote: The Design Challenge participants also vote. Opinions are aggregated and count like a 7th judge.

Judging Criteria

Quality of the idea

  • “Interestingness” - Will people want to use this?
  • Potential reach and impact – Size of the audience
  • Potential to promote Jetpack / Browser technology for education

Quality of the implementation

  • Is everything working? Is it ready for the real world?
  • What is the quality of the user experience?
  • Extensibility of the Jetpack

Additional points for:

  • Participation in the Design Challenge seminars, mailing list, and Design Camp
  • Demonstration of open source development best practices
  • Code quality (documentation, clarity, etc.)
