Title of Session: From Zero to App: An Open Web Apps Adventure!

Facilitator(s): Potch

Are you paid or volunteer staff?: Paid Staff

Area of Contribution: Front-end WebDev, Marketplace Team

How are you currently involved with the community?: Currently working on the UI of the flagship Open Web App store for Firefox OS and the larger ecosystem

Location of Work: Mountain View

Talk Length: 60 minutes

Summary: You've heard about the world of apps, and you want to play along! But you don't know where to start! Potch will cover a few of the common paths developers can take to bring their existing websites to App ecosystem.

How your session furthers the MozCamp Goals: A commmon refrain in the community is excitement over Firefox OS and an eagerness to build apps, but uncertainty on how to start. I want to show some easy ways developers can bring their content to our ecosystem.

Expected Outcome or Deliverable: I will consider this session a success at least 5 individuals are able to create apps who wanted to but were unsure how.

Desired Audience Type or Skill-set: People who have built websites in the past using the technologies they were comfortable with. So as not to duplicate effort, attending a talk on r2d2b2g would be a great prerequisite.

Equipment Needs: Depending on level of detail needed for showing working apps, I may want an Elmo. Not strictly necessary though.
