Marketplace/Reviewers/Ranks and Recognition

Marketplace Reviewers volunteer their time and efforts to uphold the quality of Mozilla Marketplace. To recognize and reward Reviewers for their contributions, a point system has been established. As Reviewers contribute, they accumulate points to earn badges and swag!

Points

For each add-on, app, or theme reviewed, Reviewers earn the following number of points:

  • Full add-on: +120
  • Complete Themes: +80
  • Updated add-on: +80
  • Preliminary Review add-on: +60
  • Apps/Dictionary/Language Packs: +60
  • Apps re-reviews/Search Providers: +30
  • Background Themes: +5

Ranks & Badges

Reviewers move up in rank as they gain experience. A Senior reviewer may earn additional admin rights.

All Reviewers start off as Apprentices, and promotions are determined on a case-by-case basis depending on experience and quality of contributions.

Each team--Add-ons, Apps, and Themes, will have its own path for advancement. This means the same person could be a Senior Reviewer of Apps and also an Reviewer of Add-ons. Following are the available ranks:

  • Apprentice
  • Reviewer
  • Senior Reviewer

A Reviewer's rank is denoted by a badge next to their username in the Marketplace.

Swag

Reviewers can earn swag as they contribute and accumulate points:

Level 1 2,160 points Stickers + Thank You Note
Level 2 4,320 points USB drive
Level 3 7,200 points Marketplace Reviewer t-shirt
Level 4 13,500 points Backpack and personal accessory
Level 5 21,600 points Marketplace Reviewer hoodie
Level 6 45,000 points Tablet
