Schedule Update

  • Desktop 98 RC1 shipped
  • Fenix 98 RC shipped to 5% of release population
  • Focus 98 RC in QA phase
  • Soft code freeze for 99 starting this Thursday until the merge on March 8
  • There will be 1 less beta in the first week of the beta cycle for 99
    • Beta 1 scheduled for March 8th
    • Beta 2 scheduled for March 10th
  • Reminder that March 7 is a wellness day, merge is on the 8th

mc2 crash incidence (% of users experiencing a crash): 2.57% (+0.40pp compared to previous week) == back to normal level, crash rate (crashes/active hour for crashing profiles): 1.83 (-0.04)

mc2 crash incidence: 0.99% (-1.87pp), crash rate: 2.07 (-0.71) - closer to normal levels, even lower

Feature Status Review

  • Firefox 98 (Beta)
    • Resolve Linux sandboxing compatibility issues with VA-API slipped to Fx100+ due to some ongoing work from Redhat. See bug 1743926.
  • Firefox 99 (Nightly)
    • OffscreenCanvas Core Development had planned to ship zoom support in Fx98 but this work has been slipped to Fx99
    • Bring Swipe-to-navigate to Linux has been removed from the Fx99 forecast. No new Release version identified at this time
