   Go To Market plan

Topics I'd like to be covered:

1. Release notes: I think we should have these, key questions/points are: - why should Firefox have release notes and Marketplace doesn't? - With increased visibility on Firefox Marketplace, we can't get away with last minute features that aren't properly communicated through official channels - just because we don't have them now, doesn't mean we shouldn't have them - we should get into the practise of regular release notes as part of the update process

2.Metrics - We won't have an MRD ready in time for the Beta 1 launch (as requested by Morgamic) - Of the metrics requested by Caitlin, which will be available by October 18th, which will be made available?

3. Non-Fennec browsers landing on marketplace.firerox.com on October 18th - What happens on desktop? - What should happen on Fennec GA? - What should happen on Chome / native browser on Android?

Developer Experience

Plans and progress in developer ecosystem, tutorials, and app lifecycle tools

App Review & Content

Current status of apps in the Marketplace and policy updates

Review requirements v0.1: https://docs.google.com/document/d/186EzvqtWqPUX7Z7QUn3ymFx2VVSQSJAhu7oVJL28FQI/edit
This is a preview of what to expect in the final version, which still needs legal review.

Previous comments available here: https://appreview.etherpad.mozilla.org/3
Important! This is a private pad, you will have to REQUEST A NEW ACCOUNT to get access!

Items still outstanding:

  • Confirmation needed: content standards allowing up to US PG-13 is a safe target for v1
  • Review with legal, especially to define "illegal content"
  • Identify max package size (Jason Smith)
  • (nice to have) Guidelines for min and max screen sizes and densities for mobile, tablet, desktop
  • Feature request: declaration on app product page whether app works offline (Chrome Store does this)
  • Feature request: split mobile category support into Android and FxOS (Karen Ward)
  • Plan to circulate these requirements outside of the Marketplace team?

Support

Support plan updates
