Celina's best practices from here events
- 1) Sharing stories
- 2) Bring lots of voices to the issue
- 3) Simple Communication
- 4) What is the value
- 5) Windows into resources that people want
- 6) Hooked into other networks using allies
- When planning an event or doing outreach, cast a wide next, building on trust that's already there
- What does outreach for an event actually look like: What does it mean to cast a wide net?
- Do we have to answer the "what in it for me" question? For example, explaining the value propositions around using open source tools and programs because it's lower cost. Or providing a QA document to help people navigate getting technical help with open source software (what answers should set off alarm bells)
- Create a friendly space and helps connect people
