Schedule Update
- Fx50
- Still debating whether we need an RC3 for the following bug:
Bug 1313965 - Flash Player object on cbsnews.com/48-hours/ is severely misaligned
- The actual fix needs to come from CBS, they don't have the fix ready yet
- CBS is #130 on alexa US top sites
- If we backout we might break out sites that we do not know of
Add-ons
will have enough RC to run telemetry on end of day or tomorrow (from Oct 31) to compare against Beta 9 & 10 (before SDK patches)
Nightly before/after showed positive impact on hangs and memory usage - no negative bugs or press or social found in nightly or beta since changes.
Stability
- [marcia] Some good, informative discussion in this bug about the new stability dashboard: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1315996
Aurora
overall rate: 5.41 (browser 1.64, content 3.76) [marcia]
- https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1315233 is the top crash in Aurora and is on trunk as well. It has a patch
- https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1294903 continues to be the #3 top crash
Beta
overall rate: 0.89 (browser 0.74, content 0.15) telemetry a week ago (m+c-s): 4.14 crashes/kuh (was 5.00 at the end of the 49b cycle)
[philipp] 50.0rc2 - top browser crashes: http://bit.ly/2fAlOQK
- early crash data from rc2 is looking quite good overall, but the build seems to be affected by the amd crashes again that we hoped to fix with a speculative patch in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1281759
- filed new bug for them: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1316022 (1.5% of all browser crashes in early rc2 data)
- rc2 is unaffected by the intel cpu rleated crash spike from https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1296630
[marcia]
- Working with Kaspersky regarding #6 top crash: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1295033. Need to get permission to provide them a crash dump
[marco] missing symbols for a Flash DLL (npswf32_23_0_0_205.dll@0x3d55ad - https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1313746 ). I've needinfoed the last Adobe person who uploaded symbols. He just replied me and he's going to upload them tomorrow.
- can we document that somewhere?
Release
