[philipp] 51.0b14:
- rising volume of startup crash [@ BaseThreadInitThunk] (6.5% of browser crashes)
- https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1322554
- user comments suggest it may be related to malware, maybe even the successor for the chtbrkg.dll LSP crashes
late breaking crash regressions on 51.0b14:
- crash in [@OOM | unknown | js::AutoEnterOOMUnsafeRegion::crash | JSRuntime::createJitRuntime] (1.2% of all crashes in 51.0b14)
- https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1331606
- also regressed on nightly/aurora starting with builds from 2017-01-13
- bug 1325200 is a suspected regressor; js team working on a patch
- e10s crash in [@ mozilla::dom::TabChild::RecvAsyncMessage] (5.2% of content crashes in 51.0b14)
- https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1331193
- needs investigation/owner
- Bug 1329989 maybe? https://hg.mozilla.org/releases/mozilla-beta/rev/09142d07fd73
- ( Bugs 1329989, 1329015, 1322315, 1325200, 1330384, 1330611 have common landings across all the affected channels in the regressing timeframe)
- correlated with addon experiment
- (63.06% in signature vs 19.22% overall) e10s_cohort = addons-set51alladdons-test [63.06% vs 42.67% if process_type = content]
- RC2: add-ons requesting removing 2 add-ons (known functionality issues) from targeting in Release 51 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1331308
Release
awsy rate: 0.91 (browser 0.68, content 0.23) telemetry m+c-s from weekend: 3.36 crashes/kuh (+0.21 to the week before, -0.04 to two weeks before)
[marcia]
- https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1328147#c2 seems a bit stalled. Still the #3 overall browser crash on release and is present on beta as well.
[philipp]
- crashes with dropbox & the windows filepicker dialog starting since last windows patchday (0.22% of browser crashes)
- https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1330991
- marcia reached out to a dropbox contact via email.
Nightly
[marcia]
- Some challenges again with a11y crashes: https://wiki.mozilla.org/Platform/Uptime/NightlyCrashTriage/2017Q1#2017-01-16_-_njn
- https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1325258 is still hanging around at #5
- Small spike in https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1323084
- Content crashes seem high in https://arewestableyet.com/, but that is likely due to IPCError-browser | ShutDownKill signature (various bugs - almost 14K) and IPCError-browser | PBrowserParent::RecvPDocAccessibleConstructor (around 800 crashes, 2 bugs associated with that signature).
Mobile
[marcia]
- https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1286307 (dalvik-main space 1 (deleted)@0xbbffffe) continues to the be the top crash on release. It is present in beta as well and is the top crash in the latest beta.
