Mozilla Foundation Partnership Training and Badge Program

The Mozilla Foundation Engagement Team offers free Partnership Training to Webmaker community members. Participants who receive the training will develop skills in all parts of the partnership development process from identifying and cultivating leads all the way through "closing" the partnership.

Members who complete the training program and successfully close a partnership under the guidance of a staff person will receive the Partnerships Badge. Mozilla Foundation staff team up with those who've earned the Partnership badge to help secure local resources for their projects.

About the Training

The training is delivered via a real time, virtual conversation (or in person, if possible) by a member of the Mozilla Foundation staff.

The training covers:

  • Current projects across Mozilla
  • How Mozilla is structured and funded
  • The Mozilla Manifesto and 4 Pillars
  • Levels of partnership
  • The Five Stages of Development
    • Leads
    • Conversations
    • Shaping
    • Work
    • Transition
  • Our systems

Completion of the Training

After the training, members enter into a mentorship period with a staff member, and work to close a partnership. After successfully closing a partnership, community members are awarded the Partnerships Badge.

Once awarded the Badge, trained community members have access to:

  • materials (such as one-pagers)
  • tools (such as proposal tracking software)
  • legal services necessary for partnership building
  • strategic support
  • pitch support
  • potentially fiscal sponsorship
