Introduction and Rationale

This JEP describes how Jetpacks could interact with and extend the Awesomebar.

Some ideas for things Jetpacks might want to do:

  • injecting new results (eg: from search providers)
  • removing results (eg: filtering out at-play results during work hours and vice-versa)
  • decorating results (custom styles, add thumbnails, scores, tags from external systems)
  • re-ordering results (use scores from external systems to bump up/down results)
  • task-specific features (eg: taskfox, ubiquity)
  • metrics collection (eg: post your searches and selected matches to external systems)
