Title of Session: Creative Wish List: What tools and resources do you need to make your lives easier?

Facilitators: Matej Novak (:matej) & Ty Flanagan (:Tycho)

Are you paid or volunteer staff?: Paid

Area of Contribution (Team Name): Creative (Brand)

How are you currently involved with the community?: Steward for Creative

Location of Work (where do you reside?): Toronto

Talk Length (please choose between 30, 60, 90, 120 minutes): 60 minutes

Summary:
We'll start with a short presentation of the recently launched One Mozilla style guide and the related assets repository (which includes logos, workmarks and other artwork and files). The guide outlines the rules and best practices surrounding our brands, products and how we communicate. In particular, it includes all the information you need to use the Sandstone style on your community sites and in your other projects.

To that end, we want to make the guide as useful as possible to everyone who may need to use it. The rest of the session will be a discussion where we ask what tools and assets you feel are missing, what things you wish you had, what kinds of issues you typically run into and how we can help.

We'll address as many questions as we can during the session, with Ty on point to help with the more detailed design questions and Matej handling questions related to community participation and the style guide itself, but we'll also capture the discussion and use what we learn to make the community section of the style guide as useful as it can be.

How your session furthers the MozCamp Goals:
This falls under both the Grow Mozilla and Mobile + Desktop tracks. Empowering and bringing in new designers helps grow the Creative Team, while creating better community pages helps with our download and retention goals.

Expected Outcome or Deliverable:
We'll come back with a list of items, including the challenges people have faced (and the questions they've had) and the assets and tools that they've requested, which we'll use to update the style guide and to draft a roadmap for addressing hurdles to volunteer participation in design and other Creative projects.

Desired Audience Type or Skill-set:
Designers, localizers and anyone looking to learn more about creative (design in particular) and how it applies to furthering the mission in their local community
